Gala Night

The kickoff to Sights & Sounds of Christmas is Gala Night on Dec. 3 at Embassy Suits Hotel. The event requires an invitation for attendance, but you can bring any additional guests you’d like! You’ll spend an evening mingling with supporters and sponsors of the annual event. The Gala is an opportunity to gather volunteers and help for Sights & Sounds. The event will have food, live music and a full open bar.

5K & 1K Jingle Bell Run

The very popular course features beautiful downtown San Marcos, and makes for a relatively gentle run with minimal hills. The race brings together local runners and gives them the opportunity to help in contributions toward Sights & Sounds. The race welcomes all levels of running. The cool winter weather of Texas makes for a brisk and breezy run on a beautiful morning. You’ll hardly break a sweat!

Your race time will be tracked by a chipped attached to the bib. All participants for 5K and 1K races will be given an event tshirt, and 1K runners will be given a participation ribbon. The top 5K male and female winners will be given a $100 gift certificate to Core Running toward a pair of running shoes and a Santa trophy. There will be a top runner for each 5-year age group.

Blue Santa Parade

The Blue Santa Parade is an event held by The San Marcos Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association for Sights and Sounds of Christmas. Anyone is welcome to join the parade, and participation does not require an entry fee. Participants of the parade are encouraged to donate one unwrapped toy to the Blue Santa Program, the namesake of the event. The event is a great way to be a part of a beautiful tradition that gives back to children in need during the holidays.
